Director/Instructor Guidelines

    We are constantly looking for workshop leaders and producers/directors for performances. If you are interested in helping with a Studio Series program, please contact Studio Series coordinator Clare Durand or PRT Board President Marco Aguilar. Prospective Directors should also fill out our Directing application.
    • All Studio Series performances, workshops, etc. will be productions of Palmdale Repertory Theatre. PRT operates on a volunteer basis. Unless agreed in advance, all personnel involved with the production are expected to serve as volunteers.
    • Studio Series productions are intended to generate revenue to help defray the costs of The PRT Studio. PRT can provide only limited financial resources toward the costs of Studio Series productions. We are looking for things that will have very minimal costs.
    • The PRT Studio is a new space that is not finished as a theater. Productions should not expect this to change in the near future. You will be using a simple, open space with folding chairs for the audience/participants. While PRT owns some older lighting equipment, there is no guarantee that we can provide lighting or sound resources for any production.
    • Priority in scheduling the PRT Studio goes first to rehearsals of our main stage productions - similarly for any other PRT resources such as props, costumes, set pieces, etc.
    • The workshops are planned to be held weekly, preferably every Wednesday evening.

    If you are interested in using The PRT Studio for third-party use, you may be able to rent on an hourly basis. For more information on this email [email protected] or look at our sublease page.

    • If you would consider directing a show chosen by our board not on your list?
    • Please indicated desired timeframe/specific dates.
    • List any known conflicts that would impact your ability to direct during any specific time of the 2025 season
    • Let us know any other information you believe is important.
