CASTING CALL
PRT is proud to announce auditions for Tennessee Williams' Cat On A Hot Tin Roof
Directed by Michelle Jace
Synopsis
The classic story of a large Southern family facing a crisis. Big Daddy has been diagnosed with Cancer, although his wife, Big Mama, in denial, has chosen to believe he is cancer free. It is his birthday and the family has gathered to “celebrate.” Brick and Maggie, Big Daddy’s son and daughter-in-law, are deeply estranged and Maggie is frustrated because she has no child to inherit when Big Daddy dies. The rest of the family, Gooper and Mae and their children, are grasping and greedy, trying their best to ingratiate themselves with Big Daddy before it is too late.
In spite of all the tension, there is love between these family members, particularly on the part of Big Mama. She has been married to Big Daddy for 45 years and cares deeply for him and he, in his grudging way, cares about her.
This is the classic story of a family divided and tense, with as many motives and undercurrents as there are characters
